I really wonder how the police failed to prevent (3000?) of them from getting onto the Gardiner in the first place. From what I understand the protests have been closely monitored by the police who have been tracking their activity & movement, albeit even more so now in light of all this.

When someone gets in a car accident and you finally pass them after they've pulled off on the shoulder, do you get out, ask whose fault it was, and then demand compensation for your time? No, but no one intentionally gets in a car accident to disrupt other peoples lives...you can manage your time accordingly regarding high volume times on the highway...you can check the forecast to see if the roads will be bad and adjust your travel time...there's not much you can do in planning for a mob of maniacs
