They (Strike Eagles) got pretty heavy work outs during the start of the Afghanistan conflict, as well as in Iraq through the early part of the war. Course they also flew during Northern and Southern Watch as well as during the conflicts in the 90s in Europe and Desert Storm.
They actually have had a lot of abuse since their inception!
Most of the aerial support though in Iraq moved to Navy planes after the initial assault, and in Afghanistan its mostly been B-1B and B-52 out of Diego Garcia flying bomb-truck missions.
There really isn't a better airframe in any of the allied countries air forces for deep, fast and heavy interdiction and strike missions though. I figure they are being employed in the Wild Weasel role right now as well, which is about as demanding a role you can give a jet like the F-15E.
