Bowyer looked good towards the end of last season. His runs into the box were precise, much like his ones during his Leeds days - where he possesed all the attributes of a typical attacking midfielder. Hopefully, he can FINALLY reignite his career and show that form of the past.

On a whole, i was also impressed with our midfield balance. Particularly Butt & Jenas overunning Boateng & Parlour in the center, in large parts of the game.

The local papers in Newcastle are really laying into Dyer over his alleged refusal to play if he was put on the right and refusal to take the armband off Shearer.

The Chronicle have written an article attacking him and suggesting he could be on his way out: Chronicle article.

The London media have been trying to unsettle Newcastle for a long time. When London journalists talk about Newcastle, you have to take everything they say with a pinch of salt. Even just the other day on Match Of The Day during the Middlesbrough/Newcastle game the commentator Tony Gubba (from London) shouted "YESSS!" when Middlesbrough scored. It's no surprise that there is so much hatred towards London up here, people are sick of all the bullshit.

Its not just Newcastle, its the North East. We've had to put up with so much shit off the hackneyed southern press for years. It was a big shock to be first on MOTD when we are used to 30 seconds at the end of the show.
