May 21st, 2006 marked a memorable day in my experience of seeing Dj Tiesto. This was the 4th time I saw him and definitely not the last. Was I excited? a bit heheheh but I was more curious about how he would perform and deliver his set and the outcome of this event. I guess you can say the excitement I felt was WAY UP THERE the first time I saw him, even the second and third time but after last July Canada day wknd performance; I was left hanging. Yes like most devoted fans, I wasn’t sure if he was just having a ‘bad day’ or if ‘Tiesto is cheese’ was really becoming the new cool thing!!! But I remained patient, and never jumped on the bandwagon of dissing him and never really felt the need to defend him. Its ok if certain ppl felt he was ‘cheese’ and ‘useless’ etc etc, that is their opinion. I did not get influenced at all by any of it. I had an opportunity to go see him in Montreal in December 2005 but I refused, and again in Vegas for NYE 2005 and I declined. I was going to wait till he came back to Toronto in 2006 and do it right!!!!
2006… ISOS 5 released in April, I buy it, I listen to it, I like it. It grows on me and some other ppl from what I hear. Then GEM events announces Tiesto in Toronto at Circa. Ok ppl let’s start Tiesto bashing again…honestly by this point I was so annoyed by it all that I promised myself to never even talk about Tiesto. I just ignored the comments and bought my tix. I felt good about it being held a Circa, a fresh place for another chance to leave me satisfied!!! Few weeks later, GEM announces the venue is being changed for Tiesto, where?? Omfg NO WAY the DOCKS!!! For those who were with me that afternoon at Cherry Beach post-Tiesto, I made a promise that I would never go see Tiesto at the Docks! But I knew something was going to be different this time…something was going to be really good this time!!!
What was I going to do? Hmmm I must add that the decision to go was for two reasons; one I have already stated the second was because of my really good friend Andrea. Andrea has traveled all over Europe and unfortunately has missed seeing Tiesto at least twice. Once she was at a hotel across the street from where he would perform and she slept through the night waking up to a crowd of ppl leaving the event …so this would be her first time and I know it meant a lot to her just like it did to me when I saw him in December 2004…. so we were ready to go …I put aside my grudge against the Docks and we were officially going to see Tiesto!!! F
The night started wonderfully at Danielle’s place for some pre-party action and Blackness’s bday celebrations!!! Dee and Lars the cake was delicious!!! No lies that’s all I ate all day and two bites of Jamie’s weird looking ravioli lol. The only thing was that all these wonderful kids were headed to Freedom and the two of us (andrea and I) to Tiesto. Pett, Dee, Lars, Sarah, Shan, Jamie, Josh, Jay, Alex, Carney (umm no trance pls)h so wished u all came too  So we bounced around 11ish…went to Ali’s dropped off her car and then he drove us to the Docks. Mmm some of you are probably wondering “he drove you to the Docks” why didn’t he go in? isn’t he like the biggest Tiesto fan? Yep! He is and NO he did not go in because he is in the middle of his law school exams. He was devastated but he had no choice. He knew if he went he would be thinking about it all week just like I am 
We get there for 12:30…yes I missed the poster drop….I was thoroughly impressed with a short lineup, our quick entrance into the club and to find that it wasn’t a sardine can like last year. Coatcheck was full …..(bam bam bam) ‘the city feels clean this time of night just empty streets and me walking home to clear my head i know it came as no surprise’
We both looked at each other and ran towards the dancefloor our coats in our hands half on and we both started BUSTIN it lol….it was awesome!!!! So I take a step back nd look around the club…SOUND was better much better than last year ....i look at the crowd meh pretty much the same crowd but I didn’t feel a rude crowd lol..pushy but polite! Then I turn around and look at the stage !!! woah those were some crazy ass bright lights, and as they dimmed lower I saw this small figure centred, his head was bouncing, his arms midair and one hand with cds …I believe its safe to say at this point I was soo thankful to Andrea that she asked me to come with her and so happy that I made the decision to come see him at the Docks!!! Really it was a moment I can’t put in words, just like the rest of the night….I laughed, I cried, I was making sure everyone was enjoying, I was looking at the doors once in a while to see if a familiar face would walk through, like Ali, I can’t believe he didn’t come with me, I was happy as hell!!!!!! I thought about many ways to describe it even in a few sentences, surely I can do that, but I wouldn’t be telling you all of it exactly how it was…you had to be there to feel the way I feel! Simple!
So to spare you all from reading my blurb I will highlight some key moments of the night****
• Empty streets- Just as we were by the coat check….that run towards the dancefloor was like two crazy girls found the love of their life or something hehehehhe
• The ‘MOSH PIT’- - bc Andrea had never seen him, she wanted an up close view and wanted to take pics…wow it was hot and laura and I were stuck I had to beg ppl to let us through cuz we couldn’t breathe…meanwhile Andrea was takin pics being pushed around she lost $75 from her pocket which she later found with the help of some guys that were also in the moshpit!! Wow !
• Tears from the moon- I thought of Ali and my trip back from Montreal from BEB 2005…I was praying I would get to hear it at the white party but he didn’t drop it….I remember telling Tyler about it after and learning that he loves that track…and then him texting me from VIVA when Cor Finjeman was there last year….I thought of you and I cried I danced and I felt the most amazing sense of attachment to this song …I have only heard it twice in a club Tiesto 2004 and Mark Oliver at the guv….this was GOLD!!!
• Lethal Industry- Truly a the TA tune from last July…and trust me IT WAS sickkkkkkkk this time around!!! Especially with all the lighting affects!….remembered and thought of so many ppl who shared this with me last year near the podium I was on, Ali, Jenn, Lisa, Fahad, Haris, Marty, Jamie, Lars, Karim, Katie, Yankeebaby (Kelly), Vlad, Richard, Ilya, Milos and so many more sorry I can’t sit and name u all forever!!! U were all missed very much!!!! Also seeing the look on LAURA Irishaddicts face …she was pointing going “nada lethal industry right” lol OH MY GOD girl u are tooo f’in cute!!! I couldn’t be happier to see how much fun you were having!!!!
• Just Be- DEC 11th 2004 @ The Docks….my very first time seeing the man himself!!! Wow I cried for the entire song!!! I think it captured every memory from that nite at the docks when he was up in the booth lol….and I was this crazy girl with my crazy friends screaming TI-ES-TO the entire time!!! It also reminded me of BEB from last year ….when Tijs dropped it..no word of a lie…I could hear my self screaming among 15000 ppl….I was overcome with so much joy that ppl surrounded me and were just in awe I was soooooooooooooo happy!!!CHRIS NFC_WAVE u were missed!!!!! u should have been there too...Kelly Yankeebaby u too hun!!!! Also reminded me of my friends who partied with me back in 2004 and then gave it all up for marriage and one is having a baby next week lol!!!!
• Midway through his set I felt as if a movie was playing inside my head and all these songs were reflected ‘in my memory’ lol….wow im such a sap!!! But I told you all this was a very emotional night for me!!! To hear him being bashed for quite some time now really made me just turn away from everything. And seeing him on Sunday nite doin his thing I would be abnormal if didn’t feel the way I did…I felt so proud! I felt like ‘WE’ the fans won!!! The ppl who stood by him the ppl who didn’t sell out , the ppl who had faith!!!!
• Flight 643- Duh this is an obvious one…magikb…I know u said u didn’t miss out much bc it had a special meaning for you last year and it was delivered but this year it had special meaning for me cuz you weren’t there and I think you would have equally enjoyed it …girl I missed u and guess what I thought of hahaha u would never even believe it …The cottage wknd Aug 2005 and the first nite when u got completely smashed and you, Cassidy and I were talking you admitted to my camera that your #1 is no longer Tiesto as Preach has replaced Mr. Tijs lol…..Sean Missed u tons especially remembered how you kept yelling “you paid $50 to stand and look pretty….dance mutha fuckas…WIKID WIKID bring it up” lol OMFG I was screaming that at one point !!!!
• The UNSTOPPABLE TEXT MSG’IN lol…..yes I was multitasking all nite!!!
• My dance partner Remi----this boy can move!!and everytime I stop he gives me back my energy!! YOJI FTW!!!! And TIESTO If any of u saw him dancing where we were you would agree!!! Stay sweet ur truly a gentleman ….and you read TA WTF???? (or so you say) lurker!!!! SWAMPER BAN ALL LURKER!!! Cya soon!! it was really nice meetin all ur boyz!!!All I gotta say is Midway-Cobra!!! TRACK OF THE NITE!!!!! couldn’t have ended our dance-off with any other song but this!!!
•SUPERMODE-TELL ME WHY If those who did not attend watch the video available on YOU TUBE!!! You will SOMEWHAT feel the feeling ppl felt when we heard it live!!!!! Gera this ones for you and yes you would have thoroughly enjoyed the party even tho ur a 'househead'  next time just do it!
• Helsinki Scorchin’- VLAD! You were on the phone listening to this live…what more can I say ….I missed you hun!!! Remember how you almost didn’t make it last year cuz u forgot ur id at home lol just to find out that they didn’t even check id’s lol….oh man good times!!good memories, good friends!!! Disappointed at first that u sold out but now I understand !!!
• meeting Sasha towards his final few songs nd him saying this to me “Nada, I love your DJ” …..my head just about exploded “what did u just say sasha??” “I love your DJ, he’s almost as good as Yoji” talk about f’in cherry on top!!!! I am so thrilled that you came out…I’m even more thrilled that you approved and that you gave him another chance to show you and everyone the CREAM of the CROP!!! To everyone I met and saw even for a few seconds or we danced or chit chatted I want thank you for going to see Tiesto. Whether it was ur first time or not he truly showed you HIM!!! That’s the epitome of my happiness!!!! Thank you for staying true and staying real!!!!I know I wrote an essay and a half but I would feel incomplete if I didn’t say these things. I want to thank everyone for sharing their pics and videos, they will be forever cherished Say what you like about him, it cannot be denied that he is one of the most recognisible faces in dance music and is certainly one of the formost DJs in the electronic music scene. Having said all of this, ISOS 5 still has plenty of good tracks. You can tell that Tiesto has put in a lot of effort with choosing his them and it deserves appreciation!!!

I cannot thank you enough for sharing a fantastic performance like the one on Sunday May 21st, 2006 with me, my friends and with Toronto!!! You brought it and brought it back!! Just like how its supposed to be. I look forward to seeing you in the near future…best of luck with your tour and Ik houd van u!!!
