In this album, TIesto had basically combined all of his work and experience from the past to produce these tracks.
The sounds and melodies in the tracks go way back from early tiesto production to the ones in Just Be. HE grabs a lot of stuff from all of his past albums, to use in the productions.
This is a wise move, as now he's catering for all of his fans, whether it be die-hard trancers or squeaming n00bs. You'll notice some of the tracks sound very commercially, whilst some soudn the way we think "trance should be".
Examples of how a lot of the stuff imitate other older works have already been given, but it surprises me that no-one noticed that in the track 10 seconds before sunrise, the background music sounds a lot like the melody in Theme from Norefjell in Magik 3. Maybe i'm wrong. But there's a lot of the other similarity from past productions/remixes/mix albums, whether it be his own work or borrowed or immitated from others are present (most of which i recognise, but can't put a finger on myself). Another example is one of the sounds the track Everything is in DJ Tiesto's Magikal remake of Aria - Willow (i might be getting mixed up with another track here).
IF there was an album "defining" tiesto, I think this would be it, because it's got the old and the new melded and forged together. This occurs bOth within the individual tracks, and between the different tracks. The big bonus is for Tiest0r, that the n00bs will be double happy because a lot of the stuff is new and fresh for them. They wont be saying "ooo i've heard this somewhere before... that's somewhat cheap".
Overall for me, good but not great. BUt i need to hear it way more, because all albums always need to grow on me.
My 2 cents.
