Its more likely that it won't see the light of day becuase it doesn't work than any stupid "can't release a cure" conspiracy theories. Only 1 in 5 treatments that go to clinical trials actually succeed. New drugs/treatments are generally expensive because it takes somewhere in the region of $1 billion for every drug getting onto market and then only a proportion of those actually make a profit anyway. This will be no different due to its complexity and costs, this isn't exactly like popping a tablet.
