i can careless if someone has sources or is right or not, I know my body I know what I'm capable of doing and how far to push it. I choose to stretch before I work out or run because I cramp, I don't if I stretch. And yes, I take in plenty of water and my nutritional intake is superb. So I think I know what works well for me, regardless of what NY Times says or whether or not someone is right or wrong in theory.
