now I'm not saying smoking is easy to quit. I know ppl that have quit and it has been difficult. If you can quit, you will be more healthy and have more money for other things. 8 bucks X how packs you smoke a month could equal a fair amount of money.

uh, i don't want to do the math.

i guess the hardest thing to deal with is the psychological addiction. cigarettes (IMO) compliment just about anything; weed, coffee, another cigarette, E, alcohol, etc.. i'm just so used to smoking. but i realise that i will, one day, need to quit, if i am to avoid cancer (which is the only phobia i have, really..)

bah.

i would really enjoy a cigarette. i do want one every now and then but then i think of my mom being in the hospital dying of lung cancer from smoking and it makes me think twice.

and i do believe its both psychologically and physically and the addiction at times can feel worse either way...you begin to feel the need during stress but i know with me theres that feeling down in my gut that only went away by smoking...

^^^for sure, i understand. i watched my grandfather die of lung cancer and emphazema (how the heck do you spell that one, anyway..) but i still smoke. it also adds to the dillema when all of your comrades smoke cigarettes. if you can remove yourself from the lifestyle, i'm sure it would be that much easier..
when did you quit smoking?

quitting smoking sucks big time, but in the end it is well worth it. For me it's a mental thing over a physical addiction. before spring break I quit smoking for 3 weeks but then during spring break I was with my old friends agian and i was just use to smokeing a cig so i started up agian right now though I only smoke a few cigs a day cutting down and planning to quit this coming sunday night at 11:59 PM. What seriously worked for me last time though is whenever I felt like having a smoke, I would say to myself in my head "you don't need a cig, you don't need a cig..." and if I still somewhat felt like having a cigarette I would excuse myself from the current situation by stepping out for a minute.

man I hope you pull through and find your spare change I guess. I've learned that you can't drag a coughing hacking horse to water so why try? seriously though, go you for cutting back. one or two or three leess cigarettes is good. Of course, your body would loe ya for not smoking any at all....
