No cherries. No cool whip. Hot fudge, rainbow sprinkles, and a thin layer of rubber cement.

It's not fancy. It's safe. Everyone needs to be safe.

For the perfect hot dog, add toppings added in the following order: Chili, cheese whiz, melted butter, rice krispies, hot fudge, rainbow sprinkles, butterscotch syrup, rubber or plastic cement or 5-minute epoxy (wait for this to dry), beer, gravel, orange peel or lemon peel, vinegar, aluminum foil, another layer of epoxy, wood chips, creamed corn, and a delicious hint of battery acid.

Maple Lodge Farms' Chicken Weiners

Ingredients: Mechanicaly Seperated Chicken, Water, Wheat Flour, Modified Corn Starch, Salt, Spices, Dextrose, Potassium Lactate, Cultured Corn Syrup Solids, Soy Protein, Onion Powder, Sodium Erythorbate, Garlic Powder, Sodium Nitrate, Smoke.

Now tell me the "shit" thats in them.

Dextrose:[DEHK-strohs]
Also called corn sugar_ and grape_ sugar_, dextrose is a naturally occurring form of GLUCOSE.
http://eat.epicurious.com/dictionary/food/index.ssf?DEF_ID=1426

Potassium Lactate, Sodium Erythorbate:
-Extended shelf life
-Enhanced intrinsic product safety by controlling food-borne pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli, C. botulinum, L. monocytogenes
http://www.purac.com/meatandpoultry/

Sodium Nitrate:
-preserve the color of the meat (meaning that it looks pink like SPAM rather than gray like cooked hamburger). You have probably noticed that nearly all meats that contain sodium nitrate or sodium nitrite remain pink or red even though they are cooked during processing.

Another thing is a lot of food here is way too genetically altered. In My country it has to say in the package that it was altered. Here you don't and I bet you if people knew which of the foods, no matter how "fresh obsessed" they are, are indeed altered.

Whats your point? Genetically modified food is safer for you because it has the anti-bacterial genes/chemicals in them. Also, I'd rather buy a whopping basketball sized tomato than a tennis ball sized tomato, wouldn't you?
Its the whole media hype, and you're falling in with it...

Whats with everyone thinking hot-dogs are meat biproducts? Grow up. Thats what your parents told you, or what other people told you, so you think eating hot-dogs is not 'cool'. There are companies that make large amounts of hot-dogs, if they were meat biproducts they wouldn't be allowed to sell the product, they would be sued from here to japan.

When it says 'beef' hot-dog, or 'chicken' hot-dog, its a goddamn beef or chicken hot-dog, don't act like f*ckin genious.

Woah.. You need to relax.. You gotta be the most emotional person I've ever seen about hot dogs in my life.. Do you work for Schnieders or something??

You're right, they don't use hooves and assholes to make hotdogs..

I was a butcher's apprentice for a long while - so let me tell you what they REALLY use to make hotdogs/sausages:

When you're done trimming up a roast, or steaks, you're left with small scraps of meat (usually attached to fat) that you can't sell.

So what do you do? Mince it, grind it and then pack it in casing and sell it.

Whether you like it or not, hotdogs/sausages are the left overs.

If you have a good butcher who makes their own dogs/sausage the casing is generally intestine. If the buy the packaged stuff it's usally some pseudo-casing (chemicals and such).

Yeah, he is the guy that they make eat all the stuff for product testing. See if he mutates or something by trying out their new Meat products.

btw RJ, that comment is a classic
You should come down for our next Downtown Hotdog Rollcall Thursdays. We have them officially once a month now thanks to this thread. Gonna bring the digi cam nexttime for some classic action shots.
