You guys do realise that Dragster is likely going to be down for the rest of the season right?

I know there's plenty of other stuff to do at the park, but I wanted to be sure so you're not sorely disappointed if you visit and it's not running...

Long and short of it:

The launching mechanism isn't working properly, rather than have it be up only every few days for a few hours at a time like it's been since nearly opening day they've decided to do what are apparently extensive fixes on it to make sure that when it *does* open it'll be on a full time daily basis.

Why that's going to take the rest of the season is beyond me, but that's the word right now.

Thats a shame too! I wanted to go on that this year! hehe

i was at cedar point 2 weekends back and I had a fuckin amazing time. One day is just not enough to go on all of the coasters so for those of you TAs plannin on going, u should stay there for like 2 nights and 3 days or something like that. i went on all the major rides at the park, the 'fearsome five' as they call them - millenium force, magnum xl 200, raptor, twister, dragster (was closed that day). man it soo fuckin amazing. Almost shat in my pants when i sat on the twister, that is one fuckin wild ride. the G-forces are just too much!! the only thing was that the lines for the rides were too long, on average about 30-45 mins. Get there as early as you can so that u can go on the major rides first....also during 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the front gate u can get freeway passes, which are kinda like express tickets to some rides (great way to avoid the long wait times for some rides).

Have fun guys, its really worth it!!

man that's a real bummerz .. wells hopefully by late August they might have it up and runnin again ..

Thought I'd give you guys this update:

If you haven't heard Dragster is running sporadically again, still the same kinds of issues as before though, late opening, frequent 20-30 minute breakdowns.

I guess at this point the best advice is to go down to the park if you want to, but not to get your hopes up too much. If Dragster is running think of it as a bonus, I don't think it's ever going to run reliably this season.

We should do this during the weekend that PVD is in Cleveland if noone has mentioned it already. that'd be a great weekend, mid summer...

CEDAR POINT IS ONLY A HALF HOUR from ME and I've been dying to go this year. I havent been there since two summers ago. Its time to visit once again!
