My brother is 30 now and he said to me a while ago people just set up there own raves in remote fields saying it was all free and everything. People just used to flock in hundreds and even thousands and bring there own beer and drugs set up some decks and everyone was a winner until someone grassed them up and reported it to the police. Thats why legal organised festivals in the UK can't have the sound turned up the extreme in what you here in clubs.
It does spoil it a bit especially when someone like van dyk is pumping the bass and thousands of crazy pilled up clubbers are going ape shit.
Still whenever i have been to gatecrasher summer sound system or godskitchen the police are there and they never search you its just the security guys who do and even they are sound as a pound.
Keep ya chin up all you american guys cos the government will break
Keep the faith my friends, keep the faith.

Yeah I read about all that, and it got so bad that they would consider it a rave if there were more than 10 people sitting somewhere listnin to music w/ repetitive beats. anyway check out the book "Generation Extacty" it talks about the origination of electronic music, each genre, and how the scene was started.
PS: PVD is comin this way in june, and thats pretty rare for this area, got my ticket allready

Spundae in San Francisco just recently got busted for what they claim to be a big big load of pills, bud and cocaine. Club owner denies it though.
I think because the American MEDIA protrays electronica, raving and the club culture in general to be drug associated, the gov't has to do it's usual intereference within the American public to keep them from having fun...while the cops are busting clubs, there are thousands of kids on the streets and innercities where drug addiction and distribution becomes a part of life.
Then again, I've never agreed with American gov't or authority during these past few years.
Fuck the gov't.
