I agree, they have to be saving somewhere. then again, behringer is in the pro audio business, whereas pioneer is typically not. meaning they'd probably have access to cheaper parts.
which is better? it's hard to say. last rave i went to, i saw them carrying a DJM-3000 out, not a behringer though.
(and tranz, i was mostly joking about the lawsuit, but legal or not, they are rip off artists) |
John and everyone else, let me put it this way. Behringer is like a large retail stores chain that have their "own" house brand, take sears for example and their Kenmore line of major appliances. Guess what, for those that have Kenmore appliances at home, Kenmore is made by either Maytag, Whirlpool, or Fridgidaire, but because it is a "house brand=Kenmore" absolutely identical item will cost waaaaay less money then a brand name. Another examnple is store branded aspirin vs. Bayer or even Tylenol. If you look at ingridients, they are absolutely the same, but the store brand is almost half the cost.
And yes, since Behringer is in pro audio business and they are quite large at it, they get mass quantity of parts therefore they are a lot cheaper. Pioneer charges a lot for the name as well, just like SONY charges way too much for their large electronics like TVs and Camcorders, just because it is a Sony you end up paying quite a bit more.
