ive never been able to finish a book. i just hate reading i guess. i always get to like 50 pages and give up. apart from the adrian mole books

and I know all about RJ I have his compendium also. hes my favorite author. Its weak in a sense of not as intense as Lord of Chaos, or have quite the feeling of shadow rising.

But you cant have those again, because their lives are different. You admitted its "not weak if you know what hes doing" but that just means he has an excellent excuse for it being weak.

Its still amazing writing, but he has to get some story lines in place which creates a sense of dull technicality behind it

not really a traveling book, but the amazing Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk was the book that lead me into reading The Beach... also, Chuck's Survivor is very good.

dont read A Prayer For Owen Meany, it sucks ass, seriously.

also, a good author that i found is greg iles. he writes more along the lines of an "action" novel, but they['re good. i've read "the quiet game", "Spandau phoenix" and "Black cross"....the last two are about Nazis, but all three are very good if you're looking for a "action" book.

The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho

Probably the single greatest book I have ever read. Everytime I need a good kick in the ass I give it a read. Can be read in less than a day, but the lessons you learn from it last a lifetime.

"into thin air" by jon krakauer. its about his adventure on mt. everst. its a really fucked up story. it was new york times # 1 seller and won some awards

To get into the groove:
- Aldous Huxley (um..spelling) "Brave New World"
(and also "Brave New World Revisited" gives you further insight. Read it before an actuall book. You'll understand WHY a lot of things occur.)
- F.Scott Fitcherald "The Great Gatsby" <-- romantic
- A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess <--you need to analyze it in depth before fully understanding it.

The Bourne Identity , by Robert Ludlum
*The movie was based on the book and the movie was good. However the BOOK kicks the crap out of the movie. There's more sotry, more detail, more action, everything is better. Then if you really love the book , there's 2 sequels (The Bourne SUpremacy, and the Bourne Utimatum)
