yeah, it's weird, if you showed her some techno or something, i'd understand, but G&D, wtf, that tune is almost pop-trance (good pop-trance, btw). any girl is very likely to like that tune. i can't understand how anyone finds that tune repetitive.
and.. that's not a reason to dump her, lol. only if it gets really annoying, the bitching comments about each other's music. but i'd bet you have a very narrow-minded girlfriend, sorry

honestly, this is the way I look at songs, mainstream and/or trance. To say that trance is boring b/c it "has repetitive beats" is basically calling all music (maybe 90% of it) boring, b/c when you think about it, ALL music with beats have repetitive beats in it. Some of them are break-beat or whatever that give the illusion that the beats are not repetitive, but it's still the same basic pattern. Moral = just b/c a song isn't 4/4 doesn't mean it's not repetitive (which difuses here argument right there, logically).
Also, trance isn't JUST about the beat. In fact, I would definitely say there is more emphasis on the emotional (read - harmonal) aspect of this music. You have guys that are known for the darker sound (think 99-00 Push, etc), the uplifiting (Rank 1, etc) and everything in between. I would say that trance is one of the many forms of music that really challenges a person to open themselves up to music and to themselves emotionally. You can't be some emotionally devoid person and immediately appreciate this type of music. Until I heard AYla - Ayla (Original Taucher Mix) back in 2000, I couldn't stand thois form of music. There was something about this song, however that just kind of caught my attention and I basically have never turned back. Just try and tell her that while she may not like THAT particular song (which may seem perposterous to us...almost blasphemous, LoL), just to give it some time and try to be open-minded to listening to other types of trance. She's a female, and females are emotionally driven for the most part. I guarantee you that if she is like most females, there will be SOME type of trance that she will enjoy.....she has to let that happen though...
good luck!!!!!

The trick to getting your gf to like Trance music is to explain what is happening. She doesn't understand the longer changes, the subtleties. On my radio show, sometimes in the first part of my radio show (there's a Gangsta Rap show before my show, ARRG!), I explain a little bit about break downs and climaxes, etc. just to get the audience to sit back and listen to the WHOLE song.
If you want to understand why she doesn't like this song. I'm pretty sure she's been brainwashed by commercial music, which makes people respond to "instant gratification" from music. With Trance music, you have to listen to the entire piece before you can judge it. The long changes and lack of instant gratification are why Trance is not as mainstream as other types of music (well, that and a whole lot more reasons:whip
So, just tell her she's brainwashed, and tell her to try to listen to the whole song CAREFULLY before judging it. If it clicks, she'll love it...
