Personally, if you want a simple CD deck that doesnt cost a whole lot and works just fine, consider a CDJ500. They were long considered the "1200's of CDs" and are still a great product. They can be found in good shape on the used market for almost nothing. I got mine for $170, and that included an odyssey case and a stack of legit CDs

Only real drawback (aside from lacking stupid useless fancy features) is they dont play CDRWs and don't have a huge pitch adjustment range... but for trace, they should be just fine!

There is a CDJ-500, and a CDJ500-II LTD - the later, the LTD model, has an enhanced job wheel and maybe a few other little enhancements.

I wouldnt get the original (non-LTD) CDJ500 - it's job wheel is, well, just about useless.

If you cant find a 500-II LTD, I'd go with a CDJ700. a bit more expensive, but has the proper jog wheel. The 700 is also much smaller/lighter and has more bells & whistles.

if you have the money for a cdj800 go for it. I think that is way better than buying 2 cdj100

o ya definately buy the one cdj800 over the 2 100s cuz ur juss using them to test mix and how many do you need to test mix, u juss need one and the 800 is pretty nuts
