Saw it last night and I really liked it. I thought the story was good even if was somewhat replicated from other films. The whole concept was intriguing to me, even if it is farfetched. I dont get scared easy at all but this one kinda did it to me, but it was more of a suspenseful/scary feeling wondering what would happen next.

Someone asked about the blood factor, and its not too bad. Nothing too graphic I can remember.

Besides the main character digging his thumbs into that one army guy's eyes...which was one of the sickest things I've watched in the theater.

For those of you that like 28 Days Later, you should check out Dawn of the Dead - its the original 70's film that the synopsis of this is taken from.

And altho 28 Days Later is good, Dawn of the Dead, (second part of the Dead Trilogy) better deals with post-consumerism, greed and necessity.

i for one really enjoyed it.... so beautifull shot n coloured, the opening sequence gave london such a different light. the characters, i really liked having unknown actors, as this did add to the realism. Although yes it is a far flung idea, we cant judge the accuracy of dialogue etc as we have neva had to expereince such a catastrophe and honestly cannot tell what would happen or how people would react. Nice hidden messages, good jumpy bits, a visual pleasure to watch.

i recommend any one with the dvd to sit through all the extras, gives u a little bit more of an insite into the thought behind the story line, and how it pregressed from the fliming to post to screen. And the Still Camera shots, all fantastic, id love to see them in a gallery or at the very least hung in my home .

Would also of love to of seen it on the big screen, would of had a total visual envolvement that is missed when watching it at home.

It wasn't very good on the big screen - the grading was crap at that size - coz its shot on DVCam's, you could see all the noise and pixellation. MUCH better on dvd/tv.

Listening to East Hastings on cinema sound was wicked tho, and the bit where he touches the Merc

I liked this movie but more like a 7/10,

I really like the first half, but imo the movie had to evolve after the soldiers-thing, it just ended abruptly there and the end is a bit disappointing...I hoped for a better plot...

I take it that this movie is already released on DVD in London/Europe?

Btw, "Dawn of the Dead" was filmed in Monroeville Mall, which is about 1 mile from my house.

im gonna have to agree with cosmic guy. the directing wasn't anything spectacular compared to trainspotting...the plot twist(s) were almost cliche at points...i mean c'mon, the whole forced breeding thing....eh....and it wasnt really that scary IMO. i wasnt startled at any parts...and let me tell you, when im watchin a movie in the dark, i'm a jumper. i dont think i jumped once. there also wasnt much characterization...unless i missed something, which is possible. there were a few interesting points, and some decent cinematography, but nothing special in my opinion. it really wasn't a terrible-all-around movie...i guess it just got really hyped and it kinda dissapointed me.
