def. a cool-ass teacher (times have changed since I was in high school--although i did have some wannabe-hip teachers that tried to 'relate' to the kids by playing rap or rock before class )

lol they named it electronic music class, maybe if they changed it to RAP BACKGROUND MUSIC class more people would of came
werd. i seemed to know more about the 'material' than the stupid band teacher, plus from the other 2 students one was a linking park fan and the other one liked 70's funk.
it was funny though, there was a crappy belt drive sony deck in the classroom, and the pitch was off by like +2... i kept making fun of it... and all we did is sat at the synthesizers trying to come up with a melody and a bassline and we seemed to have like 20 assignments at the same time but in reality we didn't accomplish anything (well, at least I didn't do shit, although i have a tape with a bunch of cheesy a-la "out of the blue" synths)

one more thing, i wouldn't really like it if any teacher made his/her class listen through 74 minutes of trance... i mean, yeah, i wouldn't mind, but if someone totally hated it, they'd absolutely hate the teacher AND the music and everyone connected to it.

I burned my teacher a cd with a bunch of live sets including Ferry Corsten's World Tour: Washington on Thursday. This guy (Mr. Martinez) is a big trance fan, and has said before that he thinks it's today's Mozart and Beethoven.
So anyway, we show up in class today, and I see he has a boom box on his desk. He tells us our assignment for this class period is to listen to an entire 74 min set with our eyes closed! The set was FC's Word Tour: Washington. He goes on to say that after the set, he's gonna give us an assignment.
The assignment: we have to list 10 sentences that describe how the music makes us "feel", with the 10th sentence being a conclusion.
That was your assignment? What grade are you in?
I bet some people in the class were bored out of their minds, they probably wrote:
-most repetitive boring shit ive ever heard in my life
or
-"it makes my feels like an E head"
or
-i feel like im gonna kill myself!

DE ANZA COLLEGE WOOOOO
going there for summer school...man hella people go to de anza
I've always said trance are modern symphonies, each track being a movement of sorts. They exhibit the same progressions, mood changes, mixture of melodies and harmonies that any Beethoven production has.
I wish all teachers knew this fact

unfortunately. don't you think there are rap/rock elitists/addicts who, like us, think their music is the shit and they hate all other genres? and some of them could've been in your class, you know.
