I agree that nyana is a hard cd to enjoy, but the fact that he really enjoys it and has spent alot of time listening to it makes his opinions seem pretty worthy to me. As the rush comes is as trancey as you can get, andain -beautiful things is a very poppy/melodic song that can very well be distinguished as a form of trance. in my opinion, andain is its own genre of alternative electronica/progressive. but who cares about the initial genre of the songs if hes trying to GET people into trance. you have to start somewhere and i agree that cd has some pretty "commercialish" songs that will make people want to download more tiesto compilations and start finding themselves liking trance... its all about what you like, not about how much you know.

hey. i agree that spreading trance is great, but you are going about it the wrong way. yo dont copy a cd that you bought, you probably didnt buy it baesd on what you are saying, but i could be wrong. y not burn them a few good lives sets or even better, through a party at your house, and play all the cds you like. many begin to like tranc eafter going to parties, not gettinga cd.

dont generalize about senior tranceaddict and what not. read this post i made in the other thread (emul8tor), and remember, it is about what you like and think is good, not someone else. although the whole post doesnt pertain to what music you like, it brings up that point in there

I agree that I should throw parties and let people see trance in many different ways. This I have done as well. I was just trying to get the feel of what the tranceaddict scene would think of someone distributing the beats. Unfortunetly, appears to be a negative harsh critism. I just wish it was more positive towards which sets and cds other people like instead of the obvious disrespect many portray. Anyway, back to the topic...if YOU were to give out 100 cds of anything to people who didn't really listend to trance what would YOU give?

Keep in mind it should be recent and have a good track selection for people who haven't really listen to trance much.

i think everyone misunderstands what this guy is trying to do. he is not giving nyana out to people who just dont want to spend money on it. contrary to what many of you may beleive, a lot of people out there have no idea what trance is. they have heard one or two 'techno' tracks on the radio and the only name that they associate with trance is paul oakenfold. all they think it is is a boring beat with a bunch of annoying sirens in the background, and i think these are the people that djtiesto4ever is giving nyana to.

for one, it is hardly hurting my man tiesto at all because none of these people are about to even look in the dance section of their local record (cd) store for a new cd. if anything, nyana will teach them that trance is more than just sirens and boring beats and they might actually buy nyana so that they can hear disk one and even continue to buy other trance cds. i have opened up many a 'techno' hater with tiesto cds and seen them purchase newer ones. even though he might have given out one tiesto cd for free, he might be effectively selling every new one that tijs produces from here out.

as far as his pick of cds, nyana is a great cd to expose people to trance. and dont give me that, o its not trance crap, i couldnt distinguish between the different varietals of electronic music until i had been listening for quite some time. as far as the new nyana listeners are concerned, it is trance. back to cd choice, i think it is important that you grab someone with a cd that they might see in the store because it will be something that they recognize in an otherwise unfamiliar terrain. and yeah, he could have picked isos3, 2, 1, or boundaries of imagination, they are all very good and would have done nicely. however, nyana is the most recent amoung them and has vocals that are very crucial at converting the rock, rap, etc. crowd.

it is true that the journey of nyana is not my favorite, but once again, i think you are giving the people that he is distributing nyana to way too much credit. rare is the person who will listen to their first trance cd and pick up on its incredible journey, i mean, they will probably just have it on in the car or something and listen to it one or two tracks at a time. i think the track selection is more important for an intro-to-trance cd.

anyway, there are my two cents...well, there are my two dollars

I'm not going to comment on the musical contents of Nyana, I haven't heard and I'm not planning too, Tiesto isn't my cup of tea. However, the reason why some people are getting at you might be down to copywrite issues. I mean your not burning 3 or 4 CD's but 100. It's a nice thought but don't you think it's a bit silly? Secondly, if you want to take Tiesto and trance to a wider audience, why not download one of his sets and burn that to CD, as has already been mentioned. Ask some of the Tiesto freaks around here what they think is his best set, decide and burn that. That way theres less copywrite issues and won't the live set flow a little better than Nyana?
