If you are looking at NYC from strictly a trance perspective I think that really only ARC comes close. NOw thats not to say that there are places that have Trance music, but none of them have it on a consistent basis. Arc might not always have a trance dj, but more often than not, they have a dj that will foray into trance/house/breaks/prog/EDM in general, which is better for the scene than nothing.

When you look at the choices (SF, Exshit) there really is no comparison, ARC has the monopoly in this town, but if a true Trance club did eventually open, I think Arc would be in serious trouble for Saturday Nights (excluding Fridays for Tenaglia/Howells of course)
I agree that Arc is the only place right now that is providing a good scene for Dj's. But I can't agree that a Trance club would put it in jeopardy for two reasons. 1) NYC is a House town not a Trance town, and 2) Arc is a House Club first, then Techno, THEN Trance... They are going for Trance acts at the moment, but their bread and butter is House, and you will continue to see that. I think a big club like Twilo would put Arc endanger... especially due to the alcohol situation... but thats another matter...

mhhh, hybrid...??

hybrid is not prog breaks imo. i sorta think hybrid has their own catagory of breaks. they sorta been around before "proggy breaks" and "nuskool breaks" and "florida funky breaks." hybrid owns, and i wouldn't even bother putting them in a sub genre of breaks, hybrid is just hybrid.

but anyway some examples of proggy breaks:
Attention Deficit - Use Only The Drugs (James Zabiela's "Reason" Mix)
Grayarea - One For The Road (Designated Remix)
Momu - Donner Pass (my fav example)
Professor Okku - Work Unspoken (Luke Chable Mix)
Sasha - Cloud Cuckoo (Luke Chable Remix)

I agree. I only meant (by my comment) that everyone knows Hybrid.
