I actually like a lot the Progressive tunes such as
AS THE RUSH COMES
NOTHING ( 93 RETURNING REMIX )
XPANDER ( DONT KNOW THE NAME OF THE NEW REMIX )
ETC.......

I think that these are great tunes and i realy love all the vocal trance ( Progy vocals ) going on around lately especially all the Gabriel and Dresden Remixes and Productions.

I think it is great that DJS start of with this style of music, however, lately The well known DJS of trance are playing quite crappy tunes which realy do not fit the genre of Trance / Prog tracks like : Traffic , Lets get Ill etc.... I think that these tracks are more for techno DJS and should not be played by Djs like Armin , Tijs, Marco V etc....

My opinion is that the trance Djs should stick to their Progy Trance and Trance music because for people like me who love Trance and hate Techno/Hardstyle its quite dissapointing going to a party where a trance dj is playing and finding out that his music style has changed completely!
If i liked techno i would go to a carl cox party, i dont think i should hear BOOM BOOM BOOM all the time when what i want to hear is pure Prog or Trance Music !

Cheers

Why do ppl start to scream noooooooooooooo Hardstyle whenever they hear a heavy beat.
Hardstyle bashing is like getting soooooooooooooooooo old

I can still remember ppl saying that Trance Energy was more hardstyle energy *sight*, just because the dj's played hardtrance and some techno.

With shockers again: boehoe Luna spinned Hardstyle, boehoehoe.

I happen to like hardstyle, hardtrance, trance, progressive, electro, gothic, metal, uplifting-trance, phat-cow-skimmed-cream-milk-lollypop-psy-rainbow-club-melee-epic-polka-neo-tribal-acid-ultra-space-sonic-whatever-trance-as-long-it-isn't-cheese.

As long ppl listen to what they like, nothing will die, there are still parties where they play disco, dixie, charleston, wave, rock n' roll, etc...

So stop worrying and keep listening.

oh god people.....

trance is alive and well.

IMHO, 2003 has been better than 1999.

I am happy people aren't playing 100% melodic trance, because there are thousands of DJs who do that and its boring as fuck.

trance will not die, its more taking over. it is a growing genre of music, alot of newbies are beginning to get into it...i mean, i for one, is always trying to convert my friends to listen to trance rather than these crappy commercial music....however, i do not want trance to become commercial due to the fact that it's not going to be more special to me any longer.

agreed. 2003 has produced soooo many good tunes its hard to pick a top 20 let alone a top 10.
forget the name behind the tune, just listen to the damn music. Some of my fav tunes this year are produced by artists I had little knowledge of.
If this is the direction of trance, fuck I cant wait til 2004.

I totally agree with what people are saying, just look at Armin's first 2 albums and ALL the old Tiesto (Majik series) compared to what they spin now. All the big trance DJs are getting more "energetic" and/or progressive... Armin dosen't even start off slow anymore. Check out Misja Helsloot he does a great job starting slow and building a set.
You can hear him twice monthly on Tranceairwaves.com, which I simulcast on my station (ETS Global)
so come listen to Armin for ASOT next Thursday, 28 August and stick around for the Misja Helsloot.

trance will never die as long as I'm on the air I've got GREAT old trance sets going back to 99, 98 and before for example some old Dave Seaman from 2000 when he spun trance back before he turned into a House DJ. there's just too much to name here.. but my playlist is 1500 hours long and that dosen't even take into account all the live events I have almost daily so come check out ETS Global if you're a fan of Trance I guarantee you'll love it.

In my opinion, trance is getting better then before, sure 99' trance was the greatest, but think of all the young talent that's coming in now and they are absolutely fantastic!

Gabriel & Dresden, PvD, Armin, Tiesto, all of these well known producers have improved SO MUCH since the last year's.
