Young does not equal good...

There are quite a few veterans, I'd agree, but Toronto does have a lot of good talent on the farm team.
Problem with young talent is that it takes a few years to learn the team's system and the other players.
Problem with old guys is that they're....well....old...but experienced and I'll take that...

There isn't shit in the free agent pool for defensemen. The leafs aer constantly competitive, and are in a weak conference, so when the weaker teams start to drop and sell off some good talent cheap, look for teams to fill the gaps that way.
