OK, on a serious note, I have two (2) time-tested but unpopular opinions to state here:

1. People here are way too concerned (read: self conscious) about the board's "image." People from outside tranceaddict who are "just dropping by" to get info on events & such probably won't even read that far into the threads, and the ones that do will most likely ignore it, dismissing it as some sort of silly internal politics (which it is). There's no reason to freak over it - if the mods don't care, neither should you. If they find it funny, a lot of outsiders will too - I look at TJ.com and bust a gut over some of the fights that go on in there.

2. I always hear this "well-known fact" that ignoring whores/bullies/shit-disturbers is the way to tame them or get rid of them. Has anyone ever seen this work in practice? Sorry guys and gals, but it doesn't. The reason they keep coming back for more after getting ripped to pieces is that insecure people, worried about their image and the board's image, decide to defend them, coming out with their "stop fighting, can't we all just get along" garbage. THAT gives them ammo - that and their idiotic sidekicks trying to get a piece of the action/attention (you know who you are).

Has anyone ever seen a message board where everyone can just ignore them? No. Not even for a second. All it takes is one person to keep bickering back for the troll to keep trolling, and everyone else gives up on ignoring and jumps right back in the action.

I don't give a shit if you all get along. But if you don't, take it to PMs or just give up.

I also don't give a shit about the image of this board. This "people are reading and not posting" thing is ridiculous. Who cares?

If ANY of you can name me one benefit of replying in the forum to various infuriating posts that cannot be achieved by replying in a PM, I am anxious to hear it.

The one reason is that I don't want to have private contact with PP. Last PM she sent me was that she was going to kick me out of a party the next time she saw me. And I don't want to have to forward every single PM to Del so he sees what is going on. I can't see this going on forever. PMs would be much to hard. This is a forum and things should be discussed.

I personally use PMs to get email addresses and other contact information. That's all. I'm not going to PM back and forth with anyone. That's only my take on PMs.

i've been following this PP/SP/thabroad trilogy and i must admit the photoshopping pp into a porn star wasn't necessary. i've had jerks on here write shit about me on pictures and its not a good feeling...
