so true, sothis. my husband works 7am to 4pm (and overtime when he can) and i recently got a job, working 8am to 3pm. we just bought a house (3 bdr, 2bth, capecod style), so money is not super abundant, we need to watch the budget. we are lucky that we have our evenings together, so we can have dinner, watch a movie or just cuddle before bedtime.
oh, and sexypersian, never, and i mean NEVER, try to come between a man and his ride!! i know, i learned that a long time ago!

you clearly didnt read my entire post.
i said i understand thinking hes irresponsible for buying the car and for having to work that much to pay it off. however, there have been sentiments in the thread about how if someone works too much, that is something you should get away from.. which i dont think is true. coupled with being irresponsible, id agree. i was speaking to those people who were talking about the former, not the latter. |
My bad, as I do agree with you on your other point.

i understand the part about not wanting to be with someone who would be frivalous with their money. however. the fact that hes gone all the time? thats called real life, with a real job
yea, its not 9 to 5, but hell.. programming jobs usually require 10 hours a day. you make shitloads of money, but you have to work your ass off for it. my sig other understands this, since he is in the same field of work. all of you must be used to dating other teenagers with part time jobs at burger king or something the real world generally takes much more time and energy, and the fact of the matter is, sometimes you cant spend as much time with your partner. dont like it? neither do any of us. but thats life. |
Well, if that's the choice both of you are content with, than it's fine. But not all people are like that. I'd rather be lousy at work and have a crappy 650$ car I have now and be able to spend day and night with a girlfriend than to have loads of money, but work my ass off all day and see my girl once a week. The fact of the matter is, that guy didn't have to buy a car he can barely pay for. If he's working all the time to pay for this car, and he doesn't have a moment to spend with his girl, than it is obvious what his priorities are. If I was in his situation, I'd ditch the damn car right away (if I was to make such a stupid error of buying something that's way over my budget in the first place).
That is, of course, if the guy's interested in you. If he's not, than his actions are understandable. If he is, then he's a moron. My advice to you is just let him drive alone in his super car and find someone who's more willing to spend time with you.
