2003 is gonna be always known as the year everything went tits up and superclubs started to die...

...and 2004 i reckon will be known in the uk as the day the underground scene became much more stronger leading to many new talented dj's

imho, it wasn't a year of anything special this time, even though there have been some decent trance tunes coming out.

next year, it will be 1999 again, and bring us another summer of love

It seems more this year that people have been jumping on the breaks bandwagon. Now more deejays are playing breaks and more artists are releasing breaks and it has become more popular (which I've never cared about). If you truly like breaks then that's great but it seems in 2003, I've seen more people jump on the bandwagon because they want to seem cool and like everyone else.

2003 started out shit.

Bonsai closing and Lvee threatening to quit production. The RAVE act. RIAA taking down everything they could. Rumours and threats everywhere.

Then it turned out to be the best year yet. Not just uplifting, but more complex, well crafted tracks came in. The best producers got better, and the amateur producers got more recognition. G&D took off, Marcus Schultz got recognition, and loads of great tracks were made.

2003 -> Good so far. A bit to go yet though.

who cares who jumped on what bandwagon? i've loved breaks for a couple of years now and all i care about it hearing them. there have been waaaaaaaay too many amazing tracks this year for djs (yes, also non-breaks djs) NOT to play them.

definately the year for Gabriel and Dresden. I mean Beautiful Things and As The Rush Comes are definately the 2 biggest tracks of the year. Tiesto and PVD are pimping the hell out of both those songs.

PVD had a big year too, Time Of Our Lives, his remix of Second Sun's Crush, and Nothing But You, are all gr8 tunes.

this year was the year of the scene falling further down to pits of shit... how can it be a year for a genre when globaly the scene is dieing or geting worse year by year... labels closing, over done mp3 downloading,no funding behind the scene, not a trend in some places as it used to be, etc all factors and its just getting worse so its a year of shit IMO and not gonna get any better any time soon

2003 was a great year - even for quote un quote "Amateur Production/Promotion" posters. They should change that Amateur part of that title, and put Amateur/Pro producers, cuz almost everybody who posts there is signed to big labels.

Seriously some great sets, I've downloaded this year. Breaks, Prog, Trance! Wow! Producers these days are taking it up a notch. I like to see the attitudes of these guys!

2004, is going to be an excellent year, I can guarantee that! -Mental
