He died at the Over the Edge PPV in May 1999, during an entrance where he was coming down from the roof on a rope. The harness he was being held up by snapped and he fell down to ring and died.

Wow...a feeling of nostalgia, when I think about the Harts. Such great talent...such great minds, spirit, and souls. Stu, the captain of the 'Hart Family' now gone. All those years of training in the 'Dungeon' and all that history, and knowledge, passes on.


It has been tough times...tough times for the Harts. Davie Boy Smith passing, and Owen. Bret having a stroke too, so I heard (or something to that extent)


Sigh. I wish the best for the Hart family.
