no its not really modifying becuase its supposed to be calibrated along iwth the pitches. take off the platter and unscrew the cover. under it. at about 1 oclock or so you will see two blue pots. one for the pitch and the other for braking. if you turn them clockwise i think it will break harder. i think the hole on the platter lines up with it if you haev the cover off. its pretty sensitive but i have mine so that it breaks as fast as it can wtihout turning back. alot of people adjust it so they can break while mixing to create an effect.

the pitch can be calibrated or turned up so that it goes faster.. ~12% or soemthing like that. have fun and congratulations. not alot of people are handed techs : )

I remember someone posting picture of a stand that also fits for final scratch nicely...that was nice. But height of the table is also very important IMO. You don't want to ruin your back.

Hey at the end it was the sl 5100 im pretty pissed but hey for free thats a pretty good deal, its really annoying though cuz the pitch is like the little circle with the teeth like in a diskman
