Well, if it was a "a long time" then it DOES matter. How long does a track have to remain popular for it to become a "classic". A week? A month? 6 months? a year? Wow....how arbitrary. Technically every one hit wonder is a classic, then.
And what makes it a classic? The fact that some DJ played it on Global Underground Tunnel Tranceport Mission Force Vol. 892? Or that you heard it at a rave once and everyone liked it? Or Pete Tong played it on his Essential Mix radio show thus artificially inflating its value? Or that you and your trance cracker friends like it, but the mainstream doesn't (thereby safeguarding Darude, ATB, Ian van Dahl, and speaking of this thread, Zombie Nation from being TRUE trance classics? Or that it made you cry? heh.
