I dont think this argument makes any sense... thats the entire point of the project.. to choose a song which the MAJORITY of the people choose as the best of the week. There is no possible way to get EVERY person to vote on the same song...but thats the same in any type of voting like politics and all that other crap... there will always be different opinions but the majority wins... And since this IS tranceaddict.com, i think the general genre should be TRANCE... although i wouldnt mind adding a few prog tunes in there every once in a while.... And yeah, like someone said before, we would need a few people to be in charge of choosing the candidate tunes each week and WE WOULD DEFINELEY need to make this a poll.. No doubt about it.... If we make this thread open for posts it would just become a huge and pointlesss flame war and a 50 page thread every week

It won't really work. Like been said before, there was always a monthly/weekly tune but it ends up breaking down.Way to many different styles that people like to select one tune.

You dont have the faintest idea how broad ofa genre trance is do you?
Tech trance folks and the folks who love acid trance would have a WAY different oppinion than the average uplifting h0r, then the vandit whores would spark in record numbers to support what ever is big with them atm, Psytrance/goa fans dont usually flame but i dont see them liking the uplifting tune of the week if they enjoy a new release from their fav producers more... Finally, their would be flaming as 2 people would request 2 epic songs, one might even have vocals then the word "cheese" would be used aproximately 10thousand times or more.
Finally comes in the extreme danger zones, prog, and borderline works (much of gabriel and dresden) the stuff some folks consider trance and others do not, I consider progressive trance different than progressive houses but many people consider prog one mega huge genre.
Finally the thread would come to look like this:
Poster 1:Sasha's remix of in a state
Poster 2: I like the new afterburn track
Poster 3: (random epic song being whored atm)
Posts = 2000 and /thread topicality

Thus the thread would wind up wiht sasha sucks, sasha owns your gay ass song!! you suck, fuck you, your mom, trance in your mom, me in your mom, what about my cheese dj, cheese cheese cheese flame cheese
Finally the thread becomes nachos.

We start the track of the year threads several months in advance for a reason,
a track on the week is a nice idea, that is not achievable

I know it wouldnt be an easy project but it was just an idea...we could switch it to tune of the month if its easier..... Like I said before, this would be a POLL so taht all these post wouldnt be created....
I was thinking maybe the first 3 weeks of a month, everybody gets to post ONLY their favorite song of the month(no extra comments just the name of a song --> ARTIST - SONG TITLE) and then we put the top 5 or 7 that have the most nominations and put those in a POLL so taht people can vote on any of those 5 or 7 or whatever the number ends up being...
