When Comfort Zone was buzz...I think like 5 years ago?! I used to go there all the time & the place kicked ass!!! It was always an amazing vibe - free water & cheap drinks.....candlelit in the back of the club the right of the DJ booth.....Always great music, and yes then to they used bring some headliners from the night before to spin.
If I didn't go to the party the night before I went to buzz....it was a sunday ritual! I did stop going however not to soon after it became Comfort Zone, only because the people going changed, alot of sketchers, strippers & yes steriod freaks - bringing with them bad energy. People create the vibe, not the venue...and I have heard latley that place has changed has a great vibe again!....I wouldn't mind checking it out and seeing for myself!

Sundays after 7pm is awesome, I make it out ther every other sunday. Downstairs can get pretty skitchy but I tend to spend most of the time upstairs with friends loungin sippin drinks and listenin to Jprez and Sydney Blue spin that sexy groovin funkaliciouse shit..
Its good times to be had as long as u surround yourself with the right peeps...

I dont understand why people say this, how do they bring bad energy? (other than the sketchers)... can you give me an example? People are always ragging on the juicers and the ginos yet they're there to party like everyone else... i dont get it..

Been to the Zone three times after big Guv parties, though the last time was over a year ago. I found Technoaddict's description bang on. The music there is just amazing. I agree with the sketch and somewhat bad vibe, but there's also cool people, especially after a big Guv event when there's nowhere else to go. So, if I have a big night and find I'm still in the need of some good dancing, I will go there again.

Now, I had not heard about the Sunday evening thing and it's great to know! I'll definitely give it a try sometime.

With respect to juiceheads\Gino's causing a bad vibe, it's simple. If you're there on steroids just to show off your muscles, chances are you don't look like you enjoy the music and don't smile much, so that already takes away from the vibe for me. If you're a Gino and go looking to pick up chicks and come grind my friends without invitation until she has to tell you to get lost, or until someone else has to intervene, you're taking away from everyone's good time. Of course, if you are a juicehead Gino who's friendly, respectful, and is enjoying the music, then you're welcome to party with me any day!

Do you live in Toronto? Comfort Zone is at the corner of College and Spadina in downtown Toronto. It's probably not as bad as it sounds, especially if you don't live here, but it's about as sketchy as it gets in Toronto. A lot of pharmacological entertainment there.

i'm pretty sure (from what i hear) that the zone encapsulates teh most bothersome elements of partying (or atleast teh elements that i find most disturbing). There are things that I have seen at clubs like guv/system/aria that will forever be scarred into my memory..nothing so serious that i would stop going mind you, but enough to indicate that I would not enjoy the 'comforts' of te hzone.

Ok, not to be a total ass here, but I'm having a hard time swallowing that the music is so amazing. What is this about the DJs "taking it to another level?" Bloody hell, they're just the resident Toronto DJs playing records. And that's not to say that resident DJs can't be as good as the superstars... but come on, this sounds a little far-fetched. What you people really mean is that the tracks they play at the 'Zone are tracks that YOU LIKE, and maybe that sounds like the same thing to some people reading, but to me the difference is more than semantic. I can play my favourite tracks at home, too.

Frankly, I think the "musical goodness" is a product of (1) hype, (2) the DJs coming down/sobering up, and (3) the spectators being all sketched out.

But hey, I'll admit, I haven't been there. So perhaps my confusion is simply due to my not having been there to hear the awesome exhibition of aural pleasure that is the Zone.

I'd go once to see what all the hype is about, but only with a reasonably large and close group of friends.
