They just make the whole stuff different, it's up to your taste if it's "helpful" or "not".

As for me it's mood dependant, sometimes I go out and like to take a trip, sometimes I just want to enjoy a chilled beer.

That's why I do not take any drugs. None, nadda, nothing. I have tried alot in the past (nothing really special). I know what they really do to you, and how harmful they are. I stay away from drugs.

I really don't get how sober ppl can party for 7 hours straight, isn't that painful? And how come headline djs usually don't come on till 2 or 3 or 4? Its because they know they're playing to the drug crowd who's probably going to be more receptive than the drunken one.

Absolutely. In fact, I can't stand being around a bunch of high people unless I am tripping on 4-6 hits of LSD. If unavailable, I take some highest quality crystal. I have smoked PCP many times, but not at a club, which would be a good time I am sure. If you can't handle smoking weed, you could always take up knitting or something.

i've only recently started to take pills, and i can easily relate to both sides of people (those who don't want too because they are scared, and those who do it to enhance the experience)

Since i was 16 i had been clubbing without the need for any substances. Doing a club night was/is easy. Usually, i'd catch a few hours sleep after coming home then i'd have to go to work for 9 hours and i would be fine. Clubbing was fun, as going to Gatecrasher London was a monthly thing that i could look forward too, as all the local clubs around me are rubbish.

I went to Dancevalley, and i did Love Parade 2002. completely sober of narcotic substances just being there was great and that alone can usually be enough. i did the whole weekend without sleep (i was taking caffeine pills and red bull though )

at Godskitchen 2003, i had my first pills. And my whole perception on the scene changed...

I wasn;t scared of what was going to happen, as i had read a lot about the effects of them, and what i should do to take care of myself whilst on them. Obviously, there was apprehension, as you have no idea what this new feeling is going to be like. But you relax yourself by reminding yourself what it is meant to feel like.

and it feels good. everything is prettier, the lights and colours are more vivid and they just look better. the music, sounds fantastic. When you hear a tune you know, when sober, and you get goosebumps, the intensity of the happiness you are feeling is multiplied many times. It really helps when you are with people you know who are experiencing the same thing and you develop a greater bond with them. Another good effect is how your sense of touch changed. its difficult to explain but everything FEELS good, which is why you always see people cuddling, touching each other etc.

now, to see whether you NEED drugs to enjoy a night?

the answer is NO. you don't NEED drugs to enjoy it, they merely enhance the experience. feel happy when ATRC is played? you will feel a lot happier when on pills. I went to Crasher at Passion on Saturday and got completely trashed on 3 very strong pills, it was amazing, being with a lot of UKTA's hearing some fantastic music, in a new club (1st time i had been to PAssion), but i'm sure that i would have enjoyed it at a diffent level without them.

To summarise, you should only take them when you are ready. And only you, will be able to tell yourself when you are ready. Don't do it because all your friends do, or because they tell you to. Advice from me is that your first time will be better if you are with friends at home, as you can do whatever you like without worrying about strangers in a club. drink water, but not too much. and just relax...
