I credit the insurgence of what I term "hate media" for the recent Republican gains in many facets of government. This includes our favorite pals Rush, Hannity, and the Faux News Funky Bunch et al. There simply isn't enough of a counter-balance in terms of left-wing biased media, and the Repubs know that when you control the media you are given enormous power. What's the reason that there aren't many radio and political TV shows out there that are the antithesis of Rush and Hannity? The people that have the money to finance these types of shows (e.g. Rupert Murdoch) know who their friends in business are...

Call me PC, but if you think about it, the Confederates were the biggest terrorists that the United States has ever faced, and almost certainly will face. I still have my confederate $50 dollar bill though, so when the South rises again I can still use it to purchase a human being.

Let's all hope that vending machine technology will have advanced enough by then so that the dream of "vend a human," conceptualized by our Southern forefathers, will one day become a reality. It also better damn well take $50s! But then again, maybe I'm just whistlin' Dixie...

I never got back to elaborating on my last post, and I'm sorry for that. Anyways since I'm from the South, the evolution of Southern politics and the civil rights movement has always been intriguing for me. The discussion will be continued here, and the article therein should provide some background info about how the modern US political landscape came about.

That's a bit unfair of me tbh, and the "hate" label can really only be conferred upon overt bigots like Michael Savage. I must have been having a bad day or something when I wrote that.

I think the eastern seaboard should secede from the union. All those midwestern states are pretty much worthless anyway . Maybe we can take a few farm states like Iowa or something. And we're going to need Colorado for skiing. We can do without the dakotas right? And I most certainly don't want California. West Virginia can go too. I don't know who else we need but maybe we can hold tryouts or something. Hmmm this idea has merit.

We elected a Republican down here in Georgia in the last election; first time in about 50 years. The F*cker promised us back the old Georgia flag, which contained the Confederate battle flag, but the M*F*cker lied and didn't even let it get on a ballot for a vote. Great to have our sorry legislature vote for what the people don't want and avoid a ballot issue. If folks knew his current stance back at election time, he would've never got voted in.
