I really honestly think that they could have done a better job with Revolutions. The bullet-time punch in the rain was good, but that doesn't make up for the lack of story/lack of answers/OTT war scenes that the rest of the film is made up of.
A real shame.

All in all a great film, but the lack of answers disappointed me. It left me with the following questions:-
What of the people still plugged into the Matrix? Were they all killed by the failure of the matrix caused by Neo's decision to save trinity (as suggested in Reloaded).
If they are still alive, what is to be done? Unplug them and have the machines suffer? Or unplug them after a new power source is found? Or give them the choice to remain in the matrix or be unplugged into the shithole of the real world?
The only way I can see is to work together to reverse the dark storm (blacked out sky) so the machines have solar power and the humans can all be released without damaging the machines. This is assuming they are alive of course.
I did like the way that what 'the architech' said would happen in reloaded, happened anyway. I.E. Neo was re-inserted into the prime program (after killing Smith), Trinity died and The one's power was re-absorbed ready to be re-incarnated the next time round. The only difference being that peace was achieved rather than the destruction of Zion and the re-starting of the 'free' human existence.
