Personally, and this is me. I'd stick with the Ortofon's they look a shitload better, are the smallest bit better in range, and come in a kit.
the whitelabels ARE the in thing ATM. Who's to say the cart doesn't fuck up in a year (IE they're dodgy)...no one knows that as they haven't been out for a year. They're still a lil new for me to suggest.

Oh!, damn now i'm in a bad situation.
Well alot of people have been telling me to get these Ortofons your recommending too with no complaints, also the same level of great feedback for the whitelabels...now i don't know which to get
How long have you had your Ortofons for, any complaints??
Where does it get sold?

Personally I've had mine 4 9 months people on the net have had theirs for more then a year before. They are awsome. Kill the Stantons, kills it all (haven't used teh whitelabels tho).
I suggest take a record you know, down and listen to both on it. That was why I ended up getting the model I did; it sounded the best.

they sounded a bit nicer.. not much difference though
i like them alot more for the design, they dont skip.. which is a major problem i had with ortofons.. and also if u happen to slip and knock the needle off the vinyl (which i have done plenty of times)the stylus itself wont actually catch the side of the platter whereas the ortofons will and in most cases will snap.
believe me when i say the whitelabels sure do take the punishment.. ive dropped them knocked them u name it ive done it and they just dont break!
much stronger than the ortofons which i had to replace 3 times in the same amount of time ive had the whitelabels which i havent had to replace yet!

Ok i rang up CSR and One Stop Dj and they told me the following prices
CSR - PIONEER HDJ1000 = Not in stock
One Stop - PIONEER HDJ1000 = $269
are they decent prices or can cheaper be found?
One Stop are doing a sale on this week too.
btw i forgot to ask, are the HDJ1000 good in blocking external sounds?
EDIT: Just by looking at Robs, Andrews and escees prices, i think something is wrong lol...did they increase their prices, damn.

HD-25s rock! I have used many a pair of headphones and nothing even comes close to these. But of course, it is a matter of personal opinion of how tight you want them to sit and how much external noise you want to kill. Many people actually do not like them said people are crazy!
If you can, test drive a few different pairs of headphones before you splurge.

if you're going to invest in higher end carts,
hope that you have a decent monitors/speakers to go with it.
really defeats the purpose if you're to use it in the bedroom with
cheap speakers.
headphones?
everybody's going to recommend to you what they've used.
do your research. try them all.
what suits one person wont necessarily suit another.
sound, comfort, isolation are your best interests.
here's a few from the top of my head
senn hd280
senn hd25, also hd25 sp?
sony mdr7506 or V6s
technics rpdj? 1210, also 1200s
pioneer hdj1000
sony v700
each has their pro(s)/con(s)
best advice i can give you is not to go with the v700s.
they have a rep of breaking within a year, which isnt covered under sony's warranty. many have tried.
also, seems like ordering online overseas is the way to go.
sennheisers n sony's are ridiculously inflated down here.
have fun
edit: i'm still an ortofon OM Pro S man. cheap fuckr i am.
