putting aside the fact that diesel0 is a buddy of mine, i've heared his very very first set when he only had like 3 records or something like that. Spinning for only less than 1.5 month (and i know that cuz we went record shopping FFS,) he has really surprised me. I expected his learning curve to be about 3-6 months at least to be able to beatmatch.

As far as i'm concerned, i think that comment was very ignorant and immature and it reminds me of an old friend that i knew. Please kindly keep such negativity off this board or any other boards to that matter.

diesel0, i apologize on such persons behalf and i hope she (he) doesn't discourage u in any such way or else i'll be stuck buying ALOTTA tracks off u

By all means listen to this guy

The reason why I made my comments was because you've only spun for 1.5 months and have already progressed so damn far. I've tried spinning and I found it very difficult to beatmatch, so after only 1.5 months I can imagine how far you've gone Man I gotta learn to keep track of like 30 beats at any time if I wanna be able to mix my buddy's jungle collection, it's just crazy

That's what I'd like ot know too My one friend is starting to get the hang of it while my buddy who's a dj has no trouble, he makes it easy and plays with it. I tried, and had to reset the needle position like 8 times before I was able to match one beat (had to kinda cheat). I can't keep track of it, I've been told to look for the big beats, but the basslines keep throwing me off, and the mixed vocals here and there and the rest...aieee

Trance should be much nicer, but it's harder to make the transition sound good since it has to be smooooth. House I hear is a good starting point until you learn the mechanics of the tables and get the hang of it :P Looks like I might be purchasing some house records for now haha

Easier to mix yes but being a deejay with hard beats is not just about mixing.
