I'm getting event tr8's. I heard those babies at a showroom, they blew away every speaker in it's price range. Only the mackies sounded better but the events came very close. For 500us, they are the best buy for your buck.

I really should take those pictures off. I don't look like that anymore, since getting into trance production I've trained very little. But genes has nothing to do with that. When i was 21 everyone called me homer simpson. I had a huge stomach and a body shaped like a pair. I just had to train and suffer twice as hard as those other guys who were sporting 6 packs and thin frames without even lifting any weights. Not to mention the guys on steroids who would lift 300 lbs without even catching their breath. I have horrible genetics and I left alot of people scratching their heads. What you see is all natural, since I am a Christian and someone who is very against drug abuse of any kind . I won't even pop a tylenol if i have a headache. Determination, desire, willpower, a strong mind, a postive outlook on life, and you can look like whoever you want and be whoever u want to be. I have a very strong desire and passion for things I love. That's all you need, passion. I admire passionate people. It is truly a virtuos quality not seen in many. My passion is trance production right now, keep and eye out, you'll be hearing about me soon enough good luck

No, not really. Having an underpowered amplifier can do more damage than an overpowered amplifier. Here's a quote from Rich the Tweak. |
thanks, i guess i will have to get a better amp or active speakers, but i hear they can have underpowered amps to

Sorry to dig this up, but its that or start a new thread, anyway...
I'm also thinking about getting the Alesis Monitor 1 MKII's, as thats in my price range, its priced at GB£200/US$350. My Question is what do you think about it, will it do the job? here is the spec for it if you didn't know and my questions:
Frequency Response: 45 Hz - 20 kHz +/- 3dB
will that be fine?, will it need a seperate subwoofer for it if it only goes to 45Hz?
Power Handling: 120 watts program, 200 watts peak at 4 ohms
will my 30 Watt per channel at 8 ohms amp do the job, will it just mean it want be able to go to max volume and/or will the quality be reduced? this cost me about GB£120/US$200 if that helps.
Thanks, and a happy new year! |
I've been digging through monitor threads, and am in a similar position to TranceMuzik02.
Could I hear some more advice on matching watts and impedance between amp and monitor? I have a "43 watts per channel min" amplifier according to my manual, which recommends 8 ohms and warns against using speakers with impedance lower than 4.
Can I make this work with any unpowered monitors? It would be significantly cheaper for me if I could. I was considering the Alesis M1s, but they are specified at 4 ohm impedance.
