i guess alot of the trance djs just don't have the talent for scratching. Its never really been a big part of the trance scene, shame really

Scrathing a trance track doesnt usually work but the odd bit and backspins can work really well..

The only djs ive heard scratch during a track are Eddie Halliwell and Johan Gielen...sounded alright but doesnt quite suit it but IMO you need to be a bit outgoing and try now and again..

Backspins usually work the best though during and at the end (Transitions etc.)

I heard Judge Jules scratching....but it sucked big time....well, not as much as his mixing though
