Keep in mind that the program the MD uses to encode the file (or whatever the proper phrase is) does so at only 128 kb/s. So you're limited to that, which doesn't often capture the frequencies of the mix as best as possible.

One of the better MDs was on sale for only about $200 at future shop recently...there are deals all the time.
