i have ( for the people ho know them) 2 jb systems hq10 's belt drive. my mixer is a (also) jb systems talent. this set up works just fine for me and i really have fun on them. i only have a lot of work keeping the records beatmatched beceause the TT are belt driven. since 3 weeks i start playing at the local club and they have to technics 1200... and a rodec mixer, gemini cdj... this was a real big difference, it was so easier, my set never sounded that good.

when i started it was with a friend. he had a table w/ pitch control and one w/o. one was also direct drive and the other belt. those where the days....hahaha. try that for a year or so and you'll become a damn good beat matcher.

i bought the stanton spincycle package. i thought it was such a great deal. headphones, 2 carts, 2 direct drive turntables, and a pretty good mixer.
the decks were two pieces of shit. they were the weakest direct drive turntables that i've ever used. i'm pretty sure there are some belt driven tables out there that have more torque than the str8-30s. the headphones looked like they came out of a cereal box. the mixer- that was the only thing that was descent.

bottom line: don't buy the stanton spincycle package. unless you don't really care (meaning you spin dj sammy and darude records)

Hahha thats the EXACT same setup i have ahah

Yes the headphones are bloody shocking, the decks are bloody shocking, ranging from volume drops to frequency attacks.

It is the shittest thing i used, but that's what i get when i didn't have enough money for Technics.

here's a progression of mine that went from worse to where i am @ now. the worst stuff is the BOLD!

CD-DJ-ing:

when i started with CDs, the setup I had to start with was 2 discmans and some weird mixer.

when i got into the clubs, i started using the Numark 88's and 360 mixer.

i don't spin CDs anymore. maybe once in a long while, but i hate it.

Vinyl DJ-ing:

started with numark 1510s and a blue dog mixer.

upgraded to gemini xl-500-ii's still with blue dog mixer.

finally, my current set up is a 2 tech m3d's with a Xone:32...
