u've got

(e^x)' = e^(x)ln(e)

since ln(e)=1, (e^x)' = e^(x)

Haha this is the funniest part of this whole thread.

What I find really funny about Christmas is it was originally a "pagan" holiday...the celebration of Winter Solstice I believe, although I'm not entierly sure. Anyways, the Christians (then a small cult) denounced the celebration, and eventually (after a few centuries) went with the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" outlook and, in effect, stole the holiday from the "pagans." Oh and they also falsely claimed that the date was also the birth of their savior, Jesus Christ.

The giving of gifts was looked down upon as a Roman tradition by the Christians btw.

Anyways, about a century or so ago....(perhaps it was two centuries, I can't remember...yeah it was after the U.S. Civil war) the country was in an economic prosperity and with mass production on the way, corproations invented the gift-giving associated with Christmas.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that some people say we should really ignore all the commercialism and get back to the "reason for the season," when in fact the root reason for the season doesn't have much at all to do with Christian ideals.

So I say, let's have the best of both worlds! Let's spend like there's no tomorrow so we can keep our economies advancing, while at the same time sticking to such ideals as love and forgiveness for all!

but if u(x) = x, then
the derivative of e^x = e^x
