Now that they got the rover running, perhaps it can scooter over to the beagle and find out what happened

This is the super high res image rizen, as NYCTrancefan posted above. Works for me. It's a 4MB 2500x2750pixel image.

Looks awesome. I've been staring at it for the past 10 minutes. It's just a dusty desert plain but you'll be amazed how facinating it is to look at, especially the bottom right corner where what looks like mud has been exposed by the retracting airbags of the lander.

I believe 3d stereo images at this resolution are coming. This part is just a section of the full panoramic to come, then they'll take another picture slightly off from this one to create the 3d images.

A low res 3d image can be found here:

So where are all these landing sites in relation to some of the most famous landmarks on Mars, like Valles Marineris, and Olympus Mons (27km high, 500km wide, 6km high cliffs at its base)?

Well check this out:

http://www.giss.nasa.gov/tools/mars24/

Simply click on the "View Mars24 Browser Applet" link and you're set. Program marks all landing sites from all past and present Mars missions, and major Mars landmarks, shows sun position and lots more.

If you're interested in finding the exact landing sites (zoom right into the surface; high res images):

http://marsoweb.nas.nasa.gov/landingsites/index.html (main site)
http://marsoweb.nas.nasa.gov/landin...inal/index.html (go straight to landing sites for Spirit and Opportunity)
http://marsoweb.nas.nasa.gov/landin...ages/R07-01606/ (spirit landing site in detail)

Here's something interesting also: how they're going to find the exact landing positions of Spirit and Opportunity using the orbitng Mars satellite cameras:
http://www.msss.com/mer_mission/finding_mer/

I'll never get lost on Mars now, whew .

Oh well that's space for you, I wouldn't hold my breath that they will resume full contact with it, after all the Brits are still waiting for Beagle.
