yes alot of the Uk labels do CDs and CDR's. you can request them if they only advertise vinyl promos at some places.

youve got it wrong mate, YOU, yes YOU get to pick which releases you are interested in.
Are you sure?
I always thought this was some kind of subscription mailing list, where you'd just sign up and received anything they're sending out, be it either good or bad..

There should be.. a very quick search on Google learned that Cuba Recordings does it (though I don't know them).. I think this is an indication that there are other labels who do too..
Though I can't be arsed looking for them.. I don't have time, I don't like trance and I don't have a CDJ
Just curious, what did you type in Google search to find this? I want to find more sites just like this

Could be wrong though
course im sure mate. No labels send you everything!!! what would be the point. it costs them time and money, and if you dont play them out, they dont get promoted!!

well, the ones im on are all UK labels, and they wont promo stuff for people in america, there's no point when they are releasing hte tune in the UK!
also you have to meet certain criteria for alot of the UK labels. there are exceptions though, like platipus and hooj/lost language.

Paying promo lists are different to the label's promotional mailout to djs and press. Both have different criteria.
DJ
As a dj you are unlikey to get every record a label puts out as most cater to style these days.
Media
Media is more likely to get all, although most labels are becoming increasingly more selective whom gets what, especially with the growth of internet info portals such as trance.nu, ivibes, etc etc. Some have better support from labels than others..

1. Platipus is only 12", not CD.
2. Didn't Hooj go bankrupt?

Scanner Records has a promo service (Haak, zigi, MIKE, Fred Baker, etc)
don't promo lists just end up giving you a lot of useless shit though? record lables will send you a bunch of crap from unknown artists or stuff that doesnt get played in hopes of getting more exposure for them...so like 80% of the stuff you get from them is gonna be stuff you dont care about.

1) your incorrect. they do offer cds as promos, you cant order them over the internet though as i pointed out earlier. however you can buy the same cdrs from the webstore on the release of the tracks
2) this is hooj as the store, not hooj as the label, echk out the website. lost language is part of the hooj network (sister label) and they offer cdrs as promos, although again not to you.

yeah totally correct mate. i do both (pay and get for free). not label with their heads screwed on right will ever send EVERY release to one person unless they happen to want all the promo'd tracks or have asked for everything anyway.
a label who send every release to every person is either too rich/stupid or is rather desperate.
