There was no miscommunication, he wasn't using the pitch control because he only attempts to beat-match 2 records with the same pitch (both CRW). He said he hasn't gotten to that level even though I thought the eccence of beat-matching was using the pitch control. whatever

Gemini XL500II, and I don't think he uses the pitch bend buttons either, he just moves it with his hands so that they are synced up.

Im not sure if dj mixers have built in tempo controls aswell as pitch
but mixing live, unless you have pitched the song way way up, you won't really turn the vocals into chipmunks
