Tho most of the time it's just people who are into shitty cheese-dance and I sorta convert them into full-fledged tranceaddicts. Just a few CDs and they're always like WOW... this stuff IS better than darude!

exactly...
and once u change them and introduce them to more things, u feel like they're your protege? ya know?
it's so cool...
i have best friends at the moment, but i also have other best friends who i'll talk to my entire life just because we have the same musical interests and solely that...

i'm a tranceaddict, so are they, it's a big part of my life...a huge part of my life...
it's theirs too, that's y we bond...obviously...

Bitching about how EDM gets no (decent) mainstream exposure in the US=the ultimate straw man

Just stop bitching and get over it

Idunno... sometimes it can be pretty hard to find good trance with all of the cheese out there. And people are such dumbasses sometimes... they think darude is so awesome... Meh... Perhaps this is a good thing... trance is hard to find... so it weeds out the dumbasses! Thus most trance-addicted people are smart. And if you're a trance-addict, you're likely smart, so you get along better with other smart people (this is obvious... most smart people aren't friends with many dumbasses). So theoretically, if you like trance and another person likes trance, you'll get along because you're of similar intelligence? lol I think I took that way too far. Well... MOST trance people who AREN'T on drugs seem to be intelligent...

i beg to differ...

completely...
i don't think it's based on intelligence at all..
it's based on the perceptions you have in life...the goals you have, the outlook you have on life in general...by no means intelligence...

the majority of people who listen to trance/have these same musical interests have the outlook that life is a) all about what you make it or b) about doing what you like/what you want...
not about how successful you are...
we also rely on the friendships we make...we feed of those that share the same ideals as we do...
that's what make us tick...

Idunno... maybe that's just my opinion because I've always been an intelligent person (95+ average in school) and I usually get along best with other people of decent intelligence. I get so annoyed by genuinely stupid people. And all of the trance people I know are also pretty smart people. But I guess EDM has it's dumb crowd too (all the drug-addicted "ravers" and such) but idunno... that's just from my experience that people who have discovered trance music on their own tend to be smart people that I get along with. But I do agree with you very much that we share a similar carefree type of outlook on life.

i know one other person that listens to trance
wooooooo, what i want to know is what people have on those ipods that dont listen to trance..

rap albums? or rock albums?
70's 80's 90's music singles can only fill up so much space

(to them, any synth track is techno), but they don't know what good dance music is out there because it doesn't get exposure on the radio or on MTV, etc. A lot of them search for it on KaZaA and end up with shitty cheese-dance music that sucks ass.

It would be nice if some quality trance got exposure and radio playtime... the only problem is that I think if people saw there was money in getting trance on MTV and radio, they'd start mass-producing it and the quality would degrade. If trance got played all the time, then too much crap trance would start to come out and it would dominate the airwaves and shut down the good, hard-working trance artists. Maybe no exposure is a good thing for us.

hey thats an interesting analogy!!!!

i kinda agree with you there... but not completely... it really depends how you define smart... are u talking booksmart or just streetsmart... i know a few ppl who are average or above average (hell even i wouldnt go farther than putting myself above average) and we have the same taste in music, get along great and we're the best of friends!!!!!

but yeah about the outlook in life ... yeah you just have to be that type of a person who doesn't stick to the stereotypes and likes to make his/her own path

cheerS!!!!!
