I have to say that im very dissapointed with the ta turnout at Junction on Saturday night (it consisted of me and wade!).... after the awesome turnout on friday night at sweetchilli for Luke Chable i expected a similar (though maybe not quite as large) turnout on the satday nite..... silly me.... i should have known better then to expect any sydney crowd to go out and support a new and upcoming night of awesome music!
The music at junction was 100 times better then what luke chable played which was, lets be completely honest here, not up to par in the mixing department and at times dipped into the plod prog just a bit too much! Scott Oliver, Simon Bell, Jeff drake and Mikah Freeman, and Mark Dynamix all pulled off awesome sets.... with Marks set being an absolute blinder!! And that was just the main room.... The other room was apparently great as well but i didnt really check it out... (me, prog, dancing you get the idea... )
The only dissapointment with Junction was the absolutely shitty turnout - if 200 people made it through the doors of space id be suprised.... and this is what makes me so despondent over the sydney scene - noone is willing to check out new nights, to hear new djs, to try something new.... everyone goes for the tried and true names even when they play absolute shit, and dont deserve the patronage they get..... its f ucked, f ucked, f ucked!!!!
Weve already seen the close (hopefully not for good) of Halcyon, the best trance night in Sydney, what will be next?? Liberty??? Chilli??? The sydney scene and everyone in it should be ashamed of themselves!!
End rant....
