hypothesis is, hardship is and was caused by the sin of our first ancestors. adam and eve.

Do you honestly think that as adults people are expected to beleive this?

We vere telling that even on tranceAddict... there were stupid guys.

This is so surprising that even a guy from QUEBEC is blaming on us, whereas everybody knows here that Quebec speaks French.

I think that kissing her boy/girlfriend in front of everyone is not a sexual act.
For us young french people, we mostly don't find that's a problem.

I think YOU American people are not enough tolerant towards those things: that's why you say that's immoral.

EDIT: yes, we love Alizée too, no problem

I think some of these posts are swaying in a different direction that I'd like to pursue, provided it's alright with the thread starter. I do not mean to ignore the original question about France's immorality, but I kinda feel that is somewhat an asinine statement, with all due respect.

But what I do want to pose the following question: Where is the origin of morality?

Now, about the muslim head scarfs, I believe that all large visible religious symbols are banned for use only in public institutions, not in privacy or even on the streets. Personally, I find it acceptable that a teacher in a public school shouldn't wear a huge cross or a head scarf while he/she teaches kids.

You think French society is bad! You should come to England! The whole world thinks we are scum cos we are! Morals? Ha!

quote:
I think that its very inmoral to be doing sexual acts in front of everyone else.... while here in the US, if you sit with your girlfriend kissing or w/e, either @ school, the mall etc etc.. you will hear "GET A ROOM" a thousand times, and if a cop sees you, they would say " HEY HEY HEY, STOP THAT. NOT ALLOWED". Two extremes eh?

In England it is customary to shout "GO ON MY SON!!!"

I these attitudes are a lot to do with religion (or lack of it in our case). In America they are quite religious so certain things are not acceptable, yet in countries where there is no religion, we hav no such constraints so do what we please. Is one society better than the other tho?

Sex in Public and Nationality
According to a recent survey of 6,600 people from 20 countries, Norwegians are more likely to have sex in public places than any other nationality. The survey was conducted by Cora publishing house (a publisher of romance novels), and questioned about 400 people in each country. The data revealed that 66 percent of Norwegians claim to have had public sexual encounters, in places such as offices, libraries, cars, beaches and parks. Australians came in second with 64 percent claiming sex in public, Greeks were third at 60 percent, Sweden and Argentina were tied for fourth at 55 percent, and Germany was fifth with 47 percent. At the bottom of the list was France, since only 13 percent of the French surveyed said they had had sex in public. This percentage was even below the 15 percent of Canadians and 21 percent of Americans who admitted engaging in public sex.
