I'm not saying PvD doesn't have talent, but there are PLENTY of DJs out there with tons more talent than PvD who don't get recognized, or as much recognization as they should. They all use the same bassline which makes it very easy to beatmatch, there's no denying that.

A top dj will use alot of his own tracks and remixes in his set that is where the talent is having produced all the tracks yourself and then being able to spin them in your sets
& just because you have a good beatmatch does not mean the mix will sound good so saying the tracks beatmatched easely does not take anything away from skill of it ...

call me outdated but i agree with swamper...mixing vinyl will always be my favorite medium...if it doesn't make sense to you are you think its dumb, its just my opinion...i'll always prefer the hunt for the impossible to find record, and i think its kinda sad how available everything is on the internet...old school view i know!

You could post 1000,s for sets from heaps of djs to show it either way so,
But you missed the point that just because you are mixing your own tracks/remixes it dosent take anyting away from the skill of it.
& about the the final scratch and cd thing
Zabiela and Sasha also use cds alot in their sets so are they helping 'ruin the vinyl culture' ???

No, it doesn't take the skill away from it if the majority of your own mixes have different basslines. You can not tell me that it's just as difficult to mix to another song with the same bassline as the one you're currently spinning as it would be had there been two different basslines.

yea an AIFF is a lossless audio,
WAV and AIFF are essentially the same format for different platforms

so basically you are trying to say that PVDs tracks all have the same bassline? if they do, i must love it because i can't get bored of any of his tracks.
