heh, personally i'd go an abit an-7 over the asus...but all things they're quite equal.

since you're going nvidia shouldn't matter, but my friend couldn't get any 9800xt to work in the a7n8x deluxe.

seriously tho, if you're buying an agp video card, why waste money on a motherboard with onboard video for!?

...don't think you can get a 2500+ and pump it upto 3200+ straight away these days...all bartons are now super-locked, meaning afaik u can't simply change the fsb to clock from 1.8/166 to 2.2/200...you'll need to find a pre week '03 45/46 i think is when they started to super-lock the bartons...if you can find a low '03 week 40 or anything 30 it'll be good to go.

and 16-10-48 cdrw? duno how cheap it is, but u can pickup a very good 52-32-52 for like $30, so might be worth shopping around for a better cd-rw.

No, ATi is normaly cheaper than Nvidia, and AMD is always cheaper than Intel, and these less expensive comapys can and compete on all the same levels with there chip's, and in many cases do much better.

But back to the thread, if you want good performance for cheap then do what I said earlier, cut the price by going cheap on the Case, keyboard/mouse, monitor[unless you want LCD but you can get those on sale if you can find them for like 150 for 15"]cd rom, speakers.

Ahem, your setup is T3H ULTIMATE SUXX0RZ!

First off, the ASUS motherboard and 3200+ tells me you don't know much. Get a K7N2G mobo. It has the nForce2 chipset, with integrated GeForce 4 MX, and an AGP slot. And get a 2500+ and OC it.

go maxtor HD 8mb cache. none of that western digital bullshit. fujitsu, WD, or Quantum = bad idea. Segate is ok, but maxtor is better. Get a SB sound card... the only way to go.

You dont need speakers if you get a nice set of headphones such as the Pioneer HDJ-1000's.
