I don't understand why you put UK in da mix
I mean, Holland -- yes, I understand that, but when you say that there's Euro-trance in the UK... hm... I mean look at all the famous DJ's in the UK, like Oakenfold, Sasha, Digweed, Warren... they don't spin Euro-trance, do they?

In fact Britain is separated from mainland Europe... both geographically, and it terms of its music tastes. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just different.

so 1+1+1, only asians are allowed to listen to trance, or else you are considered a poser or biter, or one of those crazy w3rds.

that's the kind of atmosphere that's been adopted here. and i hate it.

Maybe that's the case in Southern Cali but don't lump the Bay Area into that generalization. I myself being asian and loving trance have quite a few non-asians friends who are into it. Try coming up north there's alot of diversity here.

Here in Detroit you are verbally abused if you admit to liking trance. It is Detroit Techno or nothing. Every once in a while we get thrown a bone like PVD or Oakie, but there is no true trance night at any club

yes, its true, everyone knows that the US sucks for almost any type of electronmic music.. except the fabled "techno remixes!" Ya know you go to a club and have some fun and afterwards your buds are atalking about that great "techno remix" of some fuckin rap song.. GOD WILL THIS TORTURE NEVER END. oh yeah, I forgot about Darude's Sandstorm and all of the Vengaboys songs.

You know what else sucks about this place? Well, Ill tell you. You always hear about people breaking into a persons house and gettin cut by a misplaced knife and sueing the homeowners for thousands. Even worse are the people who spill coffe and SUE FOR MILLIONS or the guy who had a heart attack starting a lawn mower at sears and SUED FOR A FEW MIL!!!!!!!! There was a guy who was stealing power from the power company and got zapped when hooking up his jumpers. He was hurt and also sured! Only in a place this shitty can people so shamelessly exploit our legal system and the basic freedoms we obtain when born... Does this piss the hell out of anyone else? What the fuck is going on? People like that just plain suck. Do they think they somehow deserve money for being dumbasses or for having heart problems or for STEALING POWER???? Our country sucks. And on top of that, theres no trance music on the radio.

Welp, howabout a nice positive reply!!
whatever. later..............

Want to know where there is absolutely no trance scene in america???

well come to NEW MEXICO, this place is so secluded, still I don't care about the music scene here, because I make my own , and it doesnt stop me from going to clubs out of town, 99% of my friends are into trance too (thanks god)
if they werent , then I 'd probably agree with you.

see the media can say whatever they want, and so can the governmet, but no one makes the scene but us (the ones who listen to it)

it's actually better than i had originally hoped and thought in the first place, well at least here in seattle...

trance is becoming more popular, far from mainstreem<---give it 3-5 years depending on government and media exposure...

hehe, prolly better here than in Arizona (j/k plastikE)

you people are funny.

it really doesn't matter where we live, trance is awesome, and that is that. euro trance, american trance, whateva!

gimme a kick drum and some snares, some synths, an occasional crash, and I am happy.

I got kick ass headphones on my head, a rack full of trance CDs, a HDD full of trance mp3s, a small collection of trance vinyls, and even come trance tapes. I have a a bunch of DJ and producer friends, cheap raves about once a month, internet radio stations pumping the trance all day..

what more could I want? I live on the west coast of canada, but it wouldn't matter if I lived in antarctica. trance is universal, no country is better than the other for it.

we are all one global collective of music lovers. nations mean nothing, we are just human beings grooving to this wonderful music.

the one thing that really bites me in the ass is how the american audience lumps trance together with every other type of electronic music. most people think drum and bass and trance are the same thing. and clubs forget it. in the nyc area, the clubs are based on two things: drugs and who looks the coolest. check out the tiesto at exit thread in the nyc fourm. people who went there couldnt have a decent time due to the coke heads and juice heads who ruined the nite

Man, you rule! Kudos to a positive attitude. If only everyone were like that the world would be a great place!

so true RL. i dunno why ppl think NA doesn't have a trance or any electronic scene whatsoever. you kidding me?? NA's booming with talent, who cares if they aren't as big of a name as tiesto, pvd or ferry! that just means we keep them to ourselves, more for us! heheh. i know toronto's local talent has been absolutely brilliant for decades now. i'm sure it's the same across NA.

I see no reason to move yet.
in fact electronic music as a whole seems to be gaining in popularity here. Oakenfold did the soundtrack for a major hollywood movie, and In New York I can even find some trance on the radio! And all cities with a stong club scene have some trance music, although drugs are also associated with the clubs and this can have a negative effect.

If I wanted to hear great house music, I would definitely move to the UK, but for trance, I feel confident that almost every trance DJ and producer will continue to emphasize their music as something which appeals to people all over the world, and they will actively pursue bringing their music all over the world, and therefore I won't be moving.

For example, I read a PvD quote today where he compares himself playing in South Korea to Eminem Playing in South Korea, he feels his music would be understandable and unifying, while Eminem's music would not.

I might have even heard that Deep Dish is getting nominated for a Grammy this year?

I do believe that with time trance will grow in the US with time.
