dance music culture was found on drugs.most clubbers use drugs. most djs used to be clubbers.why should they stop, if they do? i take drugs occasionally myself. if i were ever to be a big dj, i would probably still take drugs occasionally. and f*ck you if you dont like it.

i don't really care if a dj takes drugs, as long as s/he plays a good set. i just thik it's a bit pathetic people wanting to know names of drugged up dj's
that sasha story isn't shame, thats CLASS!

There were days where deejays were known more for their drug consumption than their deejaying skills.
Sasha (one of the most famous cainers of all time, found drunk and coked out in a ditch in ibiza about 90 mins before a set and he went on to play the greatest set of his life)
Brandon Block
Alex P (both heavy drug abusers at times)
Marc Spoon (not really a dj imo but a true drug addict, got arrested for E in Ibiza)
Tall Paul (Cokehead)
Sandra Collins (cokehead from what i've heard)
Oakenfold (cokenfold to some)
Tiesto (cokehead)
i bet most deejays have done drugs at some point and some continue to do it. Heck it killed Ron Hardy and Larry Levan (both house godfathers, hardy was an inspiration to ppl that started techno and levan was an inspiration to many). Both died because of their drug habits that caught up with them.
LMAO Tiesto "the wolf" a big time Charles & Eddy fan, I can see why now hes world no1

this is a very interesting topic. however, i gotta agree with a lot of yall, this is totally the DJs personal business, i could care less. drugs have also always been a part of the electronic music/clubbing scene, so it should come as no surprise or dislike to anyone that some of your favorite djs may be involved in some taboo things.
just my $.02 though

Interesting thread..
I agree that if a DJ uses them, it's their business as long as they play some good tunes. But I'm just curious like some people. I don't think that's such a bad thing.
BTW, I was told by Ferry that he never used drugs before.
I agree that's a personnal problem for them. We do not know their life and I think that when your name is "Tiesto" and you have 10 GIG in 15 days. Probably, you become tired a little bit faster, so you have to find a solution to stay up and ready for your fans, and sleep should not be the famous choice for them.

I would say Sven Väth also takes drugs. A friend saw him at a club, and he told me Sven was really doping for drugs.
For me isn't a problem that Dj's take drugs if they do a good set.

Jon Carter used to be much worse and he like many a list deejays have stopped or slowed down in their older age. Tall Paul is a total cokehead, I heard from a promoter friend and he would not play till he got some coke, he is shit anyway.
Too many deejays have drinking problems
funny how drugs help certain deejays, all the greatest sasha sets, he has be either coming off from getting trashed or trashed period.

I've got an old picture of Sven Vath (we're talking early '90's here) wearing a t-shirt that says "A pill an hour gives the dj power" with a big smiley face below it. So dunno if he still does it now but it's safe to assume he did then!!

Hehehe, without naming any names, a lot of the top100 are total drug addicts. I've partied with a few awesome big name DJs that really know how to fucking rip it up =P
