Is there a video somewhere of Tod's assault? I was out of town a couple of days and missed all the highlight reels. I'm having a hard time making up my mind wether the punishment was fair or not.

King Honestly

K i dont know how many people on the Forum have played hockey but i have. Every player in the league knows that this suspension is a little extreme. The game of hockey is tough and emotions run high. The fact that Moore was injured to that degree is unfortunate. For Bertuzzi to sit out the season is acceptable but for next year is not rite. Bertuzzi suckered him and feel on him with force ramming Moore into the ice. But did the league not see Morriss jump on Bertuzzi and throw a few punches Tods way? The only reason Morris isnt suspended is because he did not injure Bertuzzi. All things considered i do not think this is an acceptable punishment for Todd!

fighting is a part of life!! We get just as angry as hockey players, we need to stick up for our friends too.

all athletes like all civilians chould be indicted when violence is used.

lemme ask y'all this, what gives hockey players the right to fight and not me against my enemy??? Why because its part of a sport, maybe i should create a sport called *whatever any name*!! Can't i use this argument in court?? I get charged for self defense or get charged for not controlling my anger yet the nhl lets fighting stand???

Why apologize for what u did, if u did not intend on hurting him that bad, then why did u sucker punch him??? If i wanted to get you, why would i end up apologizing for what i wanted to do??

Too much contradiction IMO...

so fighting is a part of life what's the difference when I lose my composure/patience and a hockey player does??

its the defensive style of play that has people not drwan to the nhl in the south, but do u really want to win fans with something that isn't even part of the skill portion of the sport like fighting???

Yes it draws a little more audience but if the product has no substance it won't be long untill people just flip the channels waiting for hockey fights, or just watching them duke it out on the highlights... Ticket sales won't go up just cause you will expect one or two brawls a game!

^^^ LOL

I heard something like this on the radio the other day. When players sign an NHL contract, they agree to play the game within the rules of the NHL. Fighting is included in those rules. Fighting is not part of society's rule of law.

If you are not a player or have never played hockey shut up! A player realizes that he may have to scrap from time to time its part of the game and the therefore accept it.
